June 2020: Sophrology Newsletter

As the lockdown is slowly being eased, we now face another concept ‘re-entry anxiety’ which is a negative anticipation about going back to the world after lockdown. A world that can be perceived as threatening, stressful, worrying. A lot of us have deeply shifted during lockdown and for some of us this anxiety will be more intense than others. If you are experiencing any level of anxiety or inability to sleep associated with the idea of returning to a new normal, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

For the time being, both for your comfort and security, individual sessions are still being held online but I have increased the number of slots available in June which you can book here.

Some of you shared with me that you were unsure about having sessions online, I really want to reassure you that it is almost exactly the same as when you come to see me in person. You have the bonus of not needing to factor in travel time so hopefully it is more convenient, and I continue to give you all the guidelines you need to make sure you feel comfortable and safe during the session. After all, ADAPTABILITY is one the pillars of sophrology!

The practice is recorded in the same way as before, so that you can continue to practise after the session at your own pace. But of course if you have any questions please just email us on info@be-sophro.co.uk and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.

GROUP SESSIONS :

At the moment group sessions can’t resume in person. However, if you are interested in group sessions ONLINE, please let us know and we will do our best to access your request in order for you to maintain your regular practice. We would love to hear from you on info@be-sophro.co.uk.

PERINATAL :

Most mums-to-be and young parents have been through an extremely tough time recently. A wonderful midwife once taught me to never underestimate the power of a hug and it’s never been so true! Please note that birth preparation with Sophrology is still happening online, and the sessions are fully adapted to your situation, needs and environment. So don’t hesitate to book a session here.

And for young parents, keep up the good work ! But if the pressure and/or tiredness is too overwhelming, please get in touch, even if it has to be online. Your baby in your arms or next to you is more than welcome !

AND FOR THE YOUNGER ONES…

Finally, a word for the youngsters…Most of you know how passionate I am when it comes to my work with children and teenagers. As soon as the UK went into lockdown, I got in touch with my colleagues in France, who were a bit ahead of us, in order to start measuring the impact of the lockdown on young ones and to adapt protocols swiftly and efficiently for them if needed. I am so pleased that in many cases we managed to successfully switch our sessions online and continue to do until we can meet again in person.

In the meantime, if you are burnt out as a parent or if you know a youngster who could benefit from sessions at this point, please get in touch and we can explore different options for working online.

I do hope you are now preparing for a beautiful and delightful summer despite the circumstances. I send over to you lots of hope, confidence and good vibes for the weeks to come. I hope to see you very soon !
